What is Google PageRank? In short PR

Google PageRank measures the importance of a web-page from 1-10 where 10 is the highest/ maximum score you can get, it is also known as PR (PageRank). The theory behind this, is that important web-page usually has a lot of links/ backlinks, linking back to the them. Such links are considered as votes e.g. Web-page(A) linking to another web-page(B) is actually casting a vote. The voting "strength"/ "weight" of a page depends on 2 aspects, it's pagerank and the number of links. Pages with higher pagerank has more strength or you can also call it weight in voting compared to pages with lower pagerank. Pages with less links has more weight in voting compared to pages with more links.

It may sound absurd and illogical but it is also somewhat true as usually people will link pages with relevant contents or find them very useful.

Having a high PR is 1 of the important factors which will help you to gain higher google rankings and where your page will appear on search engine results.
